Kashmiri cuisine nuggets for Veggies

Known as the “Switzerland of the East”, Kashmir welcomes visitors into its fold with its lip-smacking cuisine that is predominantly based on two ingredients: turmeric and yoghurt. Dry fruits find a special mention in Kashmiri cuisine especially in preparation of curries with white gravy also known as korma and dishes like dhaniwal korma, martswangan korma occupy a special place in the vegetarian platter in any Kashmir buffet. No mention of Kashmir cuisine can be considered complete without “Wazawan”, the traditional Kashmiri thali that comprises of 36 dishes and preparing this feat is in itself a great art.
